  • Q:  How long is a session?
  • A:  A session is expected to be at least an hour long.
    • High school and college homework tend to take 90min to 2 hours.
    • College calculus and statistics can take longer than 2 hours for some students.

  • Q:  What if I don't need a whole hour?
  • A:  Beginning with the second session, once a session has begun, the minimum charge for that session will be the charge for one hour.  It is therefore recommended that you use at least one hour.
 
  • Q: What if I need more than an hour?
  • A: All sessions are allowed to run longer than an hour by at least 20 minutes.  A session may be allowed to run even longer if there are no schedule conflicts or if arrangements were made in advance for a longer session.
  • If by the end of the prearranged time the student appears to need more time, the student and/or guardian of the student will be asked if extra time is desired or acceptable.
 
  • Q:  When do I pay for a session?
  • A:  Invoices are sent after all sessions for the week have been completed, usually the same day as the last session of the week.  And payment will usually be due either a day later or on Saturday.  If you need other arrangements, just let me know.
 
  • Q:  How do I pay for a session?
  • A:  I'll email you a PayPal invoice.  When you first open the e-mail, you'll be shown a "summary" of the invoice and a button that says "View and Pay Invoice".  Click the button.  A browser window will open and display the full invoice and  another button that says "Pay Now".  Click the button.  You will then be given several payment methods to choose from: PayPal, credit card, and debit card.  You won't need a PayPal account to make a payment by either credit card or debit card.
  
  • Q:  What if I miss a session?
  • A:  Once the scheduled start time has been reached, the student will have 10 minutes to either answer or return my call.  If the student does not contact me within those 10 minutes, I cannot guarantee I will be reachable for that session.
  • The charge for a missed session will equal either the cancellation fee or rescheduling fee, depending on whether the session is rescheduled or not.
 
  • Q:  What if I need to cancel a session?
  • A:  Students with different schedules might have different policies applied to them, but students having one one-hour session per week will have the following policies applied to them.
  • For regular sessions (sessions that are scheduled for the same days and times every week), as long as the number of cancellations per school year is not more than three and as long as notice of cancellation is provided at least an hour in advance, no charge or fee will be applied to a canceled session. If notice of cancellation is provided less than an hour in advance, the cancellation fee will be $10.
  • For the fourth and subsequent cancellations of regular sessions during a school year, the amount of advance notice required for canceling a regular session without charge will be 6 days and the cancellation fee will be the charge for a one-hour session.
  • For non-regular sessions, the cancellation fee is
                 $0 if notice is provided at least an hour in advance,
                 $5 if notice is provided less than an hour in advance.

  • Q:  What if I need to reschedule a session?
  • A:  If you submit your request to reschedule
                       at least an hour in advance, the rescheduling fee will be $0,
                       less than an hour in advance, the rescheduling fee will be $5.
  • Rescheduling a session may be conditional. The conditions imposed (if any) will be determined at the time of the request to reschedule.
  • If a regular session is canceled after being rescheduled, the cancellation fee will be based on either the session's original start time and the time when the request to reschedule was submitted or the session's new start time and the time when the notice of cancellation was submitted, whichever is greater. Also, even though the rescheduling puts the new session time at a non-regular time, the cancellation fee will still be based on policies for regular sessions, since the session that was rescheduled was a regular session.
